e-pics makeup question

Hopefully, we are getting our epics this weekend. I was thinking of stopping into an ulta or sephora to get my makeup done. Partially because I don't feel like paying for an appointment with my makeup artist. Can you make an appointment a counter in nordstrom/macys where they don't charge a fee but maybe you have to by lipgloss or something? It's been awhile since I've done something like that. Since it's prom/wedding season I should probably make an appt.

You can usually make an appointment at a counter and there's (usually?) a minimum purchase (varies by brand/store). I do this a lot when I have an event and need new makeup anyway. At the Bobbi Brown counter I usually go to, they have a 3-product minimum.

I used the Dior counter at the Southcenter Nordstrom - had to make an appointment but I didn't have to purchase anything.  Make up was great and the staff was awesome (I was a little freaked out as I never wear make up).

I've done it at the Mac and the Laura Mercier counter (both at Nordstroms) and they don't require that you purchase anything.  I usually plan to get something (like you suggested) just because I would feel weird leaving without buying anything.  I prefer the Laura Mercier foundation but I like the ladies and the eye make-up at the Mac counter.
