October 2013 Weddings

Checks and good news

Checks:
Last weekend we went and registered at a few stores (Shower is July 27th-kinda early but it is what worked best for the VIP's and my aunt and mom (they are throwing it for me)). Also, I  already know what one of our presents is. My future MIL bought me and my fiance a dyson vacuum cleaner!

My first dress fitting is on the 19th. I am just getting my bustle done and cups sewn in (I have a coupon for alterations that expires on the 31st). I got my dress at David's and that is where I am doing my alterations. My dress is two layers and the top layer is lace. If they mess it up they will get me a new one a no charge. I have had a great experience there so far. When my dress came in the first time the bottom hem was messed up (shorter on one side but just the top layer). They ordered me a new dress no questions asked. The new one fits like it was made just for me, like a glove.

Our wedding may be going from 33 people invited to 50 something. The ceremony/reception we have planned will stay the same though.

Good news:
Last year in June I had to go to the hospital for a emergency CT cause my doctor thought I had appendicitis. Turns out I had a 3 inch cyst in my right ovary (big enough that if it did not go away I would probably need to have my ovary removed). I had a follow up ultrasound today and the cyst is completely gone.

October 5th brides- 7 months to go!!! Squee!!

When is everyone else having their shower? Anyone else have good news to share/checks?

Edit: changed left to right, cause apparently my fingers forgot which side it was on while typing ;)

So glad that its gone. Did they give you any sort of medications to fix the issue? I have PCOS so I understand cysts completely. They are not fun and I had one burst in the past.

They did not give me any medications. I was just told to do a follow up ultrasound 3-6 months later (I am a little late, woops). The pain I had lasted for a week and a half. I have been on one BCP for most of my life. Last year I was switching pills to try to find a cheaper one I liked (I cannot take generic's for some reason and I was looking for a cheaper name brand). I got the cyst while I was switching (I had never had one before). I have since gone back the the expensive BCP I was on previously cause it works best with my body.

  • That is good news!

Wedding progress here is slow, concentrating a little more on the house selling these days. But, I do have an appointment tonight with the designer of our invites so I will get that going! Sign the contract and deposit.

I can't believe it's in 7 months! I feel like I am in pretty good shape. I need to sit down and go over everything I have done, and make a list of what I need to do still though.
