Travel Agent

We are planning a honymoon to Hawaii and we are talking aobut using Central Travel as our agent. Just wanted to see if any one has used them before or are using them and what they think about them? Also, how does their honeymoon registry work? We never have used a travel agent and just don't know how it all works!!!

    I have been talking with Carrie from Central Travel for our honeymoon.  She has been great so far :) My friend recommended them to me, and she had great experience for her Mexico vacations.

    Alright, someone clue me on travel agents?

    I have never used one and have always just used websites (hotwire, travelocity, etc.) to find my airfare and hotels.

    Do travel agents just take the work out of researching prices and then charge you for their services?  Do they have access to things that I don't know about?

    For me, travel agents always give me a few hundred dollars cheaper than websites do.  I think they have "connections" that make the prices better.  We are looking at going on a cruise for our honeymoon, and she was giving us a quote that was about $400 cheaper than online. 

    For smaller trips (continental U.S.) travel agents probably aren't worth it.  But, we use them for international vacations.

    cschuma--A legit travel agent should never charge for their services.

    It's nice to use one because they can tell you about so many different options.  And if something goes wrong (you miss a flight, etc), you have someone you can contact to help you deal with it.

    I use VIP Vacations and Jen!  They work for free, will pricematch and are totally quick with getting back to me.
