Omni Hotel Cancun-ANYONE?

I need your help ladies...i have been searching high and low for a great resort for my DW that is affordable for my guests.  The Omni has offered me great pricing and the resort looks beautfiul...just scared to committ!!  Has anyone been there for vacation or wedding? Help!

    We went there for a vacation a few years ago and had a great time overall. The resort is gorgeous and the rooms were quite nice. The only drawbacks we saw was that the resort was a bit far from the main attractions of the area and that the food at the resort wasn't great.

    I stayed there 10 years ago and it was beautiful!  They have pink marble tiled floors in the rooms which made me feel like the floors were much cleaner than carpeted floors.  The restaurant was good, the bar was awesome (2 for 1s!), and the beach had the softest white sand (supposedly the best part of the beach in Cancun.)

    The only bad thing I can say is that Mexico City occasionally does rolling brownouts for areas of the country and we were without power one morning until around 1pm.  It's also a bit far from the shopping and bar district but I think when you consider noise in those areas this turned out to be a good thing.
