Resolution Check in - 1/4/11

Hello, everyone!

My goals for today were to:

1. Go to daily Mass - I did, and the priest's homily included a perspective on the "loaves and fishes" story that I had never considered before: he observed that Jesus performed the miracle, BUT to do so involved a HUMAN contribution - the initial loaves and fishes. I thought that was a great twist on the statement: "Pray as if everything depends on God. Work as if it depends on you."

2. I did walk at lunchtime, to help my anxiety level before my interview.

I had my interview at 1:00, and I think it went pretty well.  It lasted 90 minutes - the only thing is I felt like I was babbling half the time! I think I got my points across, I just think I might have gone beyond that sometimes. But I think my vision and intent came through loud and clear. I don't know when they'll decide or announce whether I got the job.

3. I admit to buying ice cream (light ice cream) to eat tonight as a sop to my anxiety and stress - my downfall. I didn't have anything else to eat today so I feel kind of okay about treating myself a little bit. I promise not to go overboard. My FI is here, so we're having butterfly chops and veggies for our actual dinner.

I missed my Rosary on the way home - I was so anxious, I didn't even remember. I did start reading Luke while I was walking today - I love that it starts with Elizabeth and Zacharia - I love the idea that someone who was barren could conceive a child. "Nothing is impossible for God."

And I'm so exhausted right now that I didn't walk when I got home. I will get back on my wagon!

How're you guys??

    Hello all!

Sounds like you had a good day, Linda!  Good luck on the outcome of your interview.  What's the job?  Very nice message about the loaves and fishies.  I'll have to file that one away for a burst of motivation!

    My goals for today:

    1.  Get up on time - check (would have liked to work out too, but one step at a time.)
    2.  Rosary - will do before I go to bed
    3.  Homework - will start reading here in a bit
    4.  Journal - will do this evening too.

Passed on the fries today, and made myself a salad instead.  Did eat the half of the salted nut roll that my co-worker put on my desk.  (She "split" it with me!)  So, we'll get there - hang in there!
