What kind of dress should I wear to prom?

I'm trying to get ideas for a prom dress. I'm going with my boyfriend (we've been going out for over a year now, and I'm not really worried that we'll break up before then) who is a senior, so I want my dress to be extra special, plus it's the first prom for both of us. I have dark hair and eyes, and fair skin. I'm about 110 lbs and am almost at 5'7".

    When is your prom? I thought most proms were over by now.
    Regardless, it's hard to know how a dress will fall on your body until you try it on. I had the "perfect" prom dress picked out and then when I went to try it on it fell SO flat on my body. The dress I ended up going with was one I didn't even give a thought to when I first saw it.
    With prom dresses or wedding dresses, it's always best to try on in person.
