Thoughts on KM Photography & Dress Shopping

Hey ladies!  I haven't been too active on here since it seemed like our wedding was forever away for the longest time, but now that we are really starting to plan I need some advice. Has anyone used KM Photography? We were originaly going to go with Tony Hoffer and figured that 15 months in advance was enough to book a photographer, but apparently it's not! So we are on the hunt again and found KM Photography on our venue's website as a preffered vendor but it doesn't seem like too many Knotties use them and I wasn't sure if there was a particular reason why.

On another note I start dress shopping next week and have a few appointments but I have a silly question... did anyone bring the approrpriate undergarments with them or do they have them there for you to try on with the dresses?

Any thoughts/comments/advice is greatly appreciated!

When I was researching photogs I almost booked KM, but at the last minute found out she had already booked my date. I love her work.

As far as undergarments, sometimes I tried to remember to bring a strapless bra with me, but most shops loaned me one to use anyway. I'd wear underwear that you wouldn't mind anyone else seeing though. But after enough bouts of dress shopping, you kind of lose most of your modesty. :)

Sorry, I've never heard of KM Photography, so I can't help you much there.

When I was dress shopping, the shops asked if I needed a strapless bra, and they gave me one in my size.

Sorry, I've never heard of them either, we are using Solas.

As for dress shopping, I just made sure that I wore modest underwear - they provided everything else.

I've never heard of KM Photography--sorry I can't help there. But, as the rest of the girls said they will provide you with a strapless bra & slip at most places. Just remember that almost everything bridal runs a little small. I went dress shopping for the first time last week and they didn't tell me that. I had heard dresses ran a bit small, but that holds true for their bras, etc. I had to go up a size in my measurements to find a bra that worked! Good luck searching!

Can't help with KM Photography as I've never heard of them, but I found a thing on TK about dress shopping. I was trying to figure out what I should expect the first time I went dress shopping. Most brides recommended bringing a strapless bra, white boyshorts or modest underwear, and shoes about the same height you want to wear on your wedding day.  They also recommended wearing your hair similar to how you want it on your wedding day (if you know), like put it up or half up, so you can get the whole picture when you're trying on dresses.

Also just a heads up David's Bridal will provide you with a long line bra (try this on even if you bring your own strapless bra, it makes a BIG difference in the fit of dresses!) and the slips for different dresses and shoes, but Alfred Angelo only gives you a bra if you need it.

My photographer was the first thing I booked because it was one of the most important things for me.  I was debating between 2~KM and Artistic Difference.  I had been to weddings with both photographers and had seen there work and both were amazing.  I ended up decided to go with Artistic Difference because, even though there work was definetely both great, he was about $1000 cheaper.  You should check them out also, based in York, but willing to travel to where ever you need.  Either way~i think you will be pleased.

I'm a MD bride and I just booked KM for my Sept 2011 wedding.  I actually was looking at my friend's facebook and saw her wedding slide show and fell in love! The pictures are absolutely stunning! My FI and I met w/ Kris and John and they were wonderful...it was like we were onld friends! They're pricey but worked with us.  I would defiunitely set up a mtg with them...well worth it!

Thanks for the input ladies! Sorry it's taken me so long to write again-but we've been busy! Here's the update:

    1) I did end up bringing a strapless bra and it was a good thing I did because the 1st (and last) place we went do did not provide bras unless you wanted to purchase it. It has something to do with PA health code. So if anyone is going dress shopping soon- it's not a bad idea to bring your own undergarments.

    2) I GOT THE DRESS!! I had picked the dress out online weeks prior, but as with anything else you never know if you're going to really LOVE it until you put it on. It was the 1st dress I put on and then I tried on a few others for the "experience" but I ended up putting the first one back on and ordering it then & there!

    3) We met with KM Photog last week and Kris and John are soo nice! I am pretty sure we will  be booking them for the wedding! They're work is amazing too--so check them out!

    That's all for now! I appreciate everyone's advice/help!
