Kinda bummed..

Can I do a little vent on here?

My very best friend since we were kids (who lives in NJ, I am in CA now)  just told me she can't come to the wedding because she and her boyfriend are planning a Disney trip next year and she has baby showers coming up, so she can't afford it (plane ticket). We offered our spare room here for her to stay, and also offered to pay for her whole trip while she was here. We just can't afford her plane ticket.. 

I know the world doesn't revolve around my wedding, but I am still bummed because I always envisioned her there.

Oh well..  :(   

Maybe I'm just overly bummed because I have so much else on my mind too..  So stressed lately with all this planning, going bananas! lol

    I think it is totally understandable to be disappointed. You did everything that you could, so at least you have that consolation. So sorry!

    Definitely understandable.  I would be upset if my best friends couldn't come to my wedding too.

    Thanks ladies.. I feel a little better now.   I told her that we will have it videotaped so she can see. We keep in touch on a regular basis but haven't actually seen each other in 4 years since I moved to CA..  I think that's probably another thing. Just miss her a lot!

    I feel your pain. My friend who I was going to ask to be my MOH is up in New York right now getting her masters... well, our wedding is in Myrtle Beach, SC like the week before she graduates. She told me should couldn't make it down.. and, while I understood, I was bummed. She just sent her invitation response back marking her regrets on the response card, but she included a nice hand-written note saying that she can't wait to come back to SC (this is where she's from) and see all of my wedding pictures and hear the story and memories behind each one. That note made me feel so good, I teared up! Now I'm looking forward to getting our wedding pictures back after the wedding and having the ability to actually sit down with her and share each one.  Smile

    Awwww I would be bummed too. And dont feel bad for venting thats why we are all here. I agree you did everything in your power to get her there and sometimes it just doesnt work out. I know she is very special to you so since she cant make the wedding maybe find a time before the ceremony where you can take a few minutes to give her a call. That might help you feel as though she is still a part of your big day. And def call her after the ceremony even if its only long enough to say YAY we are officially married!!!

    I completely understand. My bff and matron of honor may not be able to make it. She lives in Hawaii and they just cane home to visit for Christmas and now don't have the money to come back in April. We all thought we had until June for the wedding, but it got pushed up right before Christmas.
