Cake Bakers

I am looking for reccomendations for a traditional wedding cake baker. I am going to have consultations with Swiss, The Royal Cakery, and either Gambinos or Haydels. Those are my top choices, in that order. I just wanted to hear peoples exerience with taste and best quality for the money. Thanks for your help!

The cakes for my wedding came from Haydel's. Both cakes looked and tasted great. They were a hit!

I've heard some pretty big horror stories about Swiss (cakes arriving already "sour," cakes arriving partially frozen).  I also find their icing techniques to be dated and it looks like they have a child piping the icing designs onto the cakes.  Just Google Swiss and you'll see what I mean.

I've heard nothing but wonderful things about the Royal Cakery and I have had delicious cakes at weddings provided by them.

Haydel's is always an old stand by.  Haven't had wedding cake from Gambino's but their king cake is always great.

You didn't mention it, but Flour Power is an up and coming bakery.  Wonderful cakes. We tasted 6 different flavors from them and all were absolutely mind blowing.
