So, since I'm assuming he wasn't any of our SOs, I was wondering.

If someone popped up and did something like that, and you knew they were the SO of someone on this board (I know I don't talk to M about being here), would you tell them if the post was removed before they found out?

I was wondering too, especially because their names were relatively distinctive. If John was asking about proposing to Jessica or something, that would be different.

I wonder if the post would even be deleted before the reg saw the post in your hypothetical question...I mean, newbies don't always know how to delete and such.

No way would I tell someone that their BF was soliciting funds on the internet for their e-ring. It's not my business (other than to keep my money in my pocket) and if the BF if is that clueless/tacky, then I'm sure there are some other red flags.

I wouldn't tell them, it isn't my place. I think I would feel too awkward about it anyway. I certainly wouldn't want to know if FI was asking people for money - I would be mortified.
