Bachelorette party ideas

I am in need of some serious help. My sister is getting married in Oct (23rd) and her MOH is preg with her first. She is due Sep 4th, so she has a lot going on herself.
1st Is it wrong for me to kind of take over the planning of the bachelorette party/and shower? I don't want my sister to get left out or bypassed but I don't want our friend to be overwhelmed.
2nd - Since our friend is prego it is hard trying to plan a weekend to do something because she is tryin to work as much as possible. Any ideas of what we can do? I liked the idea of dinner/photo shoot. The other problem is that my soon-to-be bro in law lives out of town so we are limited to what weekends we can do something. The prego friends says its ok if the wedding party does soemthing without her but whats teh point.
Any ideas??? please help!

Re: Bachelorette party ideas

  • As long as you ask the MOH if she minds if you help out on planning the bachelorette party and she says go for it, then you're fine.  Just run it by her first to make sure she isn't already planning something.

As far as what to do, I'm not sure why it matters that the brother-in-law lives out of town...am I missing something?  If this is just a bachelorette party, then he wouldn't need to be there anyway.  If you want pregnant MOH to be included, just plan  something easy like a fancy dinner and maybe out for drinks afterward, or maybe a spa day, or even a girls only sleep over with lots of junk food, drinks, and movies.  Whatever you think the bride will enjoy the most.  It doesn't have to be some big out of town extravaganza.

  • We are doing a movie marathon at my dad and stepmom's house. They have a movie theater room in their house. I want to do scary movies but a couple gals are chickens (lol) so we are compromising and alternating scary movies with wedding chick flicks. They also have a full bar and a huge popcorn machine, so it should be a fun night!

  • The soon to be groom being out of town, I didnt know if it would be easier to do like a co ed party since all the groosmen live here. As far as the prego MOH, I just didn't want her to feel left out. I asked her if it would be ok if I helped her with the planning and she was more than grateful to accept!  I think the movie/slumber party may be good. Thanks everyone for the ideas!
