Favor Poll

We have decided instead of having one favor type, we want several. They will be put in quart size jars decorated with ribbon and a tag that says whats in it. We originally were going to only do different types of cookies but thought what if someone doesn't like cookies? So now I ask you, as a guest what would you like?

We would like at least 5 different options.

Re: Favor Poll

  • i love cookies and i think most people do but wouldn't want to have to bake them myself. so if you don't want to give baked cookies i voted for bbq sauce. mainly cause we love to bbq and like trying different sauces and as well if your dad makes it that definitely makes it more special. i would use the hot coco mix too but it seems a bit random.
  • Our wedding is in January. Hot Coco just seems fitting for a January wedding as do cookies.
  • I love the idea of homemade bbq sauce that your dad makes. It's very personal and would be a nice touch.

  • All of the weddings I have been to have had a candy favor, and I always love it. It gives me something to snack on while I'm bored or just simply waiting for cake. Also the different candies idea can be pretty inexpensive. My friend did hers in mason jars, tied some burlap on the top and put a hand-written tag on it, it was adorable.

I do love me some BBQ, though. So I would love that, too.

My "other" vote is oatmeal chocolate chip cookie mix! :D

  • I personally wouldn't like homemade bbq sauce, I would prefer store-bought favors, I'd like cookies, chocolates or assorted candies.
  • I'd like to vote for everything but the one with raisins because that is the only thing on there I don't like.  I don't personally use BBQ sauce often but I know plenty of people who would love it.

    I'm no help here, oops.

BBQ sauce. That is a really unique idea. My FI and I love BBQ so we would be really excited if we received this as a favor :)

  • I like the idea of the BBQ sauce because it's personal and unique, but I know if I got that as a favor it would go in the trash. I'm skeptical about homemade sauces and marinades and such because I don't know what's in it, how it's made, etc. But that's just my own issue because I'm picky about sauces.

I like the hot chocolate idea, especially since it's a Janurary wedding.

<div>That's a good point. I'm not particularly picky about what goes into food or who made it, but I do know a whole lot of people who are.</div>

  • I think the BBQ sauce is a cute idea, but maybe more appropriate for a spring/summer wedding. I would probably want baked cookies, instead of the mix, so I can eat them at the wedding or on the way home. Chocolates are always a good idea too..GL!

  • I also like the cookie/ hot cocoa idea. It'd probably be better to provide already made cookies rather than the mix, so guests could munch on them during the reception or on their way home. The barbecue sauce idea is cute, but as other people pointed out, some people don't like using home made products because they don't know what's in it (I'm sure most your guests will know your dad well enough to rule out the possibility of poison being mixed in  the sauce... but that's one thing my mom has always been paranoid about when receiving some one's home made food!) I say stick with food the guests can munch on at the reception. Good luck! :)

  • Yikes I totally didnt' even think about that. But, would you be worried if it came from family or really close friends. We aren't inviting anyone that we aren't really close to. Most everyone has ate my dad's sauce before, he bottles it and sells it.
  • If it's something he bottles and sells, and most of the guests have already eaten it before, then that changes things (in my opinion.) I personally would appreciate something homemade rather than something storebought, as it shows that the person took the time to make it for you. Since everyone you're inviting is really close, if you really want to use your dad's barbecue sauce, I'd say go for it.
The only time I would be worried about eating something homemade by a relative is if it came from a relative who was known to have mental problems, or if it was something made by my grandmother (who is the worse cook on the planet!)

  • Hot Cocoa Mix is a good idea for a January wedding - nice and warm!  I don't like BBQ sauce on anything, but a lot of people do, and it's also a cute idea because your dad makes it.  I voted for M&M Cookies b/c those are my favorite, yummm! Now I want cookies...

  • I like the BBQ idea.  Now I HATE cooke. So I would go with the candies or BBQ.

I chose other because there are a number of people who are diabetic in my family and I would prefer to give a favour that is usable and not edible.

I do like your idea of different choices because everyone does have different tastes.  I hope the poll helps.
