Invites aren't like candy

I just had to express my frustration with FI I have only asked him for his guest list for the past year on many occasions. Finally Invites went out last week and now he asks me if I have extra because he wants to give it to a couple of people because he feels bad not inviting them. You just don't go passing out invites all willy nilly like its nothing. He sees absolutely nothing wrong with it. And on top of it all, 2 of his family members he never even verified their addresses so the invites got sent back and one had the wrong last name. I am so through with him right now. I know now just to do it myself.

    My hubby said the same thing, and I must admit that I felt a little guilt too about not inviting some people. Try breaking the numbers down for him and tell him that it will cost $XX to invite so-and-so...do you think it's worth it? Hopefully he'll say no. LOL. Good luck!!

    He thinks its a no brainer since we are having a destination wedding. To be honest I know these people aren't going, but still, to be tacky about it and just be handing them out irks my nerves.

    At least I am not alone in my frustration! Read my post from Saturday. Nice to see another Philly Knottie on the AAW board. We are few and far between.

    this invite thing is a beast!  the mr. just called asking if it was okay to add 6 people he forgot.  I said before we talk about it again, think of it this way:  do I like (guest name) enough to reach into my pocket and give em $125?  and if so, now double it because you've invited their guest too.   

    this is what I heard on the phone next:   {pause}  "I'll call you back in a minute."

    Lol. I am definitely gonna have to do that, because all I keep hearing is " I'm not spending another dime"  @ 20pearls16, yes it is nice to see another Philly Knottie. I did start to notice that there weren't many around. :)

    I think I put some major fear in FI when we first made the guest list... I kept saying, "Who's THAT? and Who's THAAAAT?!" So that he knew that we didn't have $ to be adding just everyone. Now he is being REALLY tight. At one point, he wanted to x out his siblings :)
