NWR: Job interview, yay!

Brightfirefly, I don't mean to steal your thunder, but I got a job interview too! It's at the university for an assistant position, half of which would be spent on writing my PhD. I really, really, really want that job. Part because I would LOVE it, part because it's walking distance from my house instead of a two-hour commute daily like my current job, and part because I want out on my current job.

I heard about it yesterday, and so wanted to share, but theknot was down and apart from my FI I don't really want to tell my real life friends yet. It's still two weeks waiting. Which I hate, but I guess it gives me time to prepare...

[QUOTE]Hooray! This sounds a lot like what I did while I was writing my master's and applying to PhDs. It's nice to stay at a university while working on these other things. The income is awesome, too :P

<div>It is awesome! But a bit different for me, I wrote my master's years ago and have left the university since. I feel that my work experience would be really useful though, I heard that in our liberal arts university they like hiring people who've been 'out there' first. And I miss my old university so much!</div>

  • Wow. :o) That's awesome - and so close to home too! I can't even imagine a two hour commute. I'd shoot myself in the head, I think. I love driving - but I'd hate leaving so early and getting home so late.

    Good luck!
