Kalmus Beach

I am having a beach ceremony next June and had my heart set on having it at Kalmus Beach.  I went there last weekend and now I’m having second thoughts because of the wind.  It is so windy there! Has anyone had their wedding there, or been to one there? I’m wondering if the wind is going to be a deal-breaker?

Its always pretty windy down there and to be honest, I don't see it as a "Wedding"y beach. I know once the sun goes down it is often a sort of...meeting place....for people who would like to find...new friends...if you get my drift.

Are you looking in hyannis specifically? How large of a wedding is it?

Oh god! We're having the reception at the cape codder & we're doing their beach ceremony package.  We can have the ceremony at kalmus, sea st or veterans.  The ceremony is going to be @ 5:30.  Do you think Sea St or Veterans would be better?

I think veterans is a LOT nicer. Theres a really pretty fountain surrounded by rose bushes that would be nice for pictures after the ceremony, or if you're seeing each other before. I'm sure the ceremony at kalmus would be fine but I do think its almost always windy down there, and the parking lot doesn't seem to get cleaned up as often as the others. We left there late last night (maybe around 9?) and there were a couple guys lurking around- one in a parked car just sitting and one in the woods/trees behind the lot. Maybe I just have bad luck there but there always seems to be someone hanging out looking sketchy there.

I think one of the upsides to kalmus is its more ocean view-y, where as at veterans there are usually a lot of boats in direct sight of where your ceremony would be.
