Centerpiece ideas

I'm planning a bridal shower for my sister in law at a fancy restaurant with amazing city views.  There's only 15 people attending, so the site seats guests banquet style...at one long table.  Since the room is so dramatic, I'm looking for ideas for a low lying centerpiece that won't obstruct the view, but also something long that could run the length of the table.  We're going for a sleek, urban feel.  Any ideas?

    Wheatgrass or Moss centerpieces in sleek wooden bins ... then you could always do little picks with cute little flags, or something??

    I'm using these for my centerpiece for my wedding... Vases are $3 at Michaels --Calls for 1 rose, 1 Washer, Rocks and Water (Since you are at a Restuarant you can prob. ditch the mirror)

    I love these modern centerpieces from former Knottie Smorriso's wedding at the Mill City Museum. Plus, carnations are fairly inexpensive.

    This is kind of spendy but you can reuse it a lot. We got it as a wedding gift off our registry at Crate & Barrel. It's very large, like 3 feet long but not too wide. It's perfect for a centerpiece when you have company over, or to have on your coffee table. Since it's black and square, I think it has an urban feel to it. It's $129. But once you have it, it's cheap becuase you just fill it with water and put candles or flowers in it. You can also put moss in it like a pp said.
