DJ under 1000???

That 's Not DJ Malee!!! He is booked on my date.
Can anyone recommend DJ and uplighting that under $1000?
I can go a bit higher than that but not over $1100.
I have tight buget for a DJ so If anyone could recommend that would be great.

    We used Tom Salatto from Starry Nite Entertainment and he was awesome, professional, and cheap! $800 for the reception, and an extra $100 since we asked him to do our ceremony and cocktail hour music as well since live music wasn't in the budget.

    I am also using DJ International for about $750, but we're not doing any lighting in our package.

    Not sure where your wedding is, but we interviewed Music Machine in Rhode Island, we loved them but snagged DJ Melee for our day! They were very affordable and we really liked the DJ we spoke with (Can't remember his name).

    I'm looking for the same thing!  Our wedding is in Norfolk, and we're really just looking for someone to manage the MP3 list, know what to play when dancing lags, and to make a couple of announcements (like, "Time to cut the cake"--nothing really beyond just announcing when something important is happening).  The best quote we've gotten so far is $1200, which seems a lot to spend for basically watching over our iPod for 6 hours. 

    Well, we also need the person to manage our ceremony songs (also MP3), but that's not too tricky, either.

    I contacted some of DJs you recommened.
    Def will meet some of them in couple weeks
    DJ International actually has very reasonable basic packages.

    Have you tried asking DJ Melee if he knows someone?  He told us that he's got a guy he's training to be a partner, and this same guy will be attending all the weddings with him in October/November this year in case DJ Melee's wife goes into labor (she's expecting their first child in November, I think).

    Shawn's Mobile DJ Service is GREAT, and its $550 for the whole day, I know for a fact NO ONE can beat that!!!

    Celebration Entertainment , bookthedj.com , does a 6 hour all inclusive package (lighting is free) for $1099.00!! We have them and they are awesome!! From the time we booked them they have gone out of their way to accomodate us!!

    They do cocktail music outside free, lighting free,and we are having a ceremony for a total of 6 hours at our reception facility -and it's all included!!
