Rec for "Club" style DJ

Hi everyone-
This is my first post, but I've been reading for some time and have found all the hints and tips so helpful as my fiance and I plan our 10-2-10 wedding.  Thank you!  So, we're in the process of booking music and need to do a DJ due to the size of our space (just not enough room for a band).  Does anyone have recommendations for a reasonably priced (under $3K) DJ who is less "wedding-y" more "club-y"?  Ideally we'd love someone who doesn't want to do much talking (just can't do the cheesy wedding DJ type), likes to mix a range of music from indie to rock to hip hop.  Unfortunately everyone we've tried to book is already booked.
Any thoughts appreciated!

    First, Congrats on your upcoming wedding! My wedding is not for awhile so I have not booked a DJ but this is one we are considering: hinrgsoundproductions.com/

    They seems to give me the "club-y" feel. I'm not sure of their prices. Friends have used them and said they are very accommodating and have different packages. It can't hurt to inquire. Good Luck!

    I'm planning my wedding on 10/10/10 and am using a DJ my friend recommended.  He's definitely along the lines of what you're looking for.  Depending on how many hours you want, he's pretty reasonable.  Email me if you want more info mooovu@yahoo.com

    i would recommend DJ Shakey.s he is much more house/club oriented.  http://www.djshakey.com/

    the DJs at Starry Night are also more clubby, but i don't know what their prices are like.

    Try colorblind productions.  I know they do mostly weddings and their website would peg them as wedding djs but they did the dj Junior Sanchez's wedding and my cousin used them and they are NOT your typical wedding dj.

    Colorblind and Starry Night are well within your budget.  The dj I recommend is popshop djs (Colleen is the owner also djs).  You can find the company doing a google search - well within your budget and all the djs spin around the city.

    I would try John Arden Music, he used an amazing Club style DJ called DJ Endless and incorporated his live music (John is an award winning musician) all of this for just under $3000.

    John Arden Music is a steal, we found him via a reccomendation and he is also a rehearsal dinner and shower specialist under LI Knot page

    Congrats on your wedding, John was great to us!!!
