Falmouth Wedding 10/16/10 review

I used these boards a lot for recommendations so I owe you future brides.

Ballymeade CC - A+ I can't say enough about Christine the coordinator. We had our ceremony there too so everyone loved the club. We had so much room to move around. The older folks enjoyed dessrt and coffee in the next room and the bar and dance floor were well used too!
White Tie Limo - A+  very easy to book them, everyone was on time and the driver was great.
Two Way Entertainment - A+ Mark Friedman and crew were fabulous. Everyone danced and had a great time. The candid photo shots where shown on a video screen which was a big hit! Patti his wife was our photographer too. She was great but I haven't seen the photos yet. I am sure they will be great and we will make our own albums.
Chef Roland's Catering - A+++ Roland's food is unbelievable! So many appetizers, people are still talking about it! Roland is a busy guy but grab him! He is not an emailer or a website guy, but he answers his cell phone himself.

Florist- Karen Bryden - Petals by the Sea Hyannis -B Her flowers were lovely but we were short one bouquet. Its was probably my fault because we communicated mostly by email and I should have checked on more details
 on the phone.

Harpist - Katie Lynch Koglin A+ She was great and played and sang beautifully. She was so easy to deal with too!

JP - A++++ Tom Welch  made our ceremony so personal, everyone loved him. It was beautiful and so many people mentioned that to us.

Hotels - I stayed at the Inn on The Square in Falmouth which was nice - I thought they could have been a bit better on customer service and made an extra effort for the brides suite (champagne, flowers anything?) for someone who brought in 12 guest rooms for the weekend. They still had some of my out of town gift bags when we checked out Sunday.  The folks at the Red Horse Inn were much more thankful and organized and we sent 10 rooms of people there too.

Let me know if you have any questions cape brides and ENJOY!!!

Jeanne

Thanks for sharing. Did Roland do your wedding cake as well? That's next on my check off list, I'm looking for an affordable wedding cake near Falmouth.

Very helpful, thank you!! I am staying at the inn on the square for my wedding in July.  Other than the gift bags, how was it? I was worried about the rooms, the girls are getting ready with me in the suite, do you think it is large enough? thanks ;)

Thanks, everything was great and we enjoyed the day!

Yes, the rooms were fine! i had read things about it online that made me nervous but I wouldn't stay anywhere else if I were you. The suite at the Inn had a bedroom and a small living area. There were only 3 of us getting ready there and we really just put on dresses and shoes. It would be a little tight if there were more of you! You can't beat the location of the Inn, everyone loved being able to walk to main street  and Liam Maguires on Friday night!

Regarding the cake, I had a woman who we had worked with before in Falmouth make it and deliver it. I can send you her name and # if interested.  It was delicious and beautiful ( and beachy) . She does it out of her house. Roland does a gelato bar with sauce and all that so I ordered a smaller cake and there was plenty for 150 ppl. i think it was under $400 for a 100 person cake. I never tasted the gelato or coffee and really only had a bite of the cake, but eveyrone loved it!

I've stayed at Inn on the Square a couple of times.  Rooms are lovely and bathrooms as well.  Regular rooms are not that huge for a bridal party, IMO

    Jeanneh -

We had a missing bout for our wedding from Karen - same reason - communication mostly by email and some changes made to contracts so we were referencing different contracts as the "final" contract - She has beautiful flowers and will do anytihng to help out - but make sure you are all on the same page for number of items! (I would recommend this now for any vendor, hindsight's 20/20 I guess...)

    Jeanneh--

We had SO many of the same vendors (but I'm a jerk and haven't posted all my reviews yet!) I LOVED Ballymeade too, and people are still talking about how good Chef Roland's food was. I seriously wish I could go back to my wedding in a looser dress.

Interesting that a few people have had issues with Petals by the Sea. That was the one thing that was off on our day- our BM bouquets were a lot smaller than we had talked about and didn't include all the same flowers, and the bouts were correct in number, but they were also the wrong flowers. Also, she put pearls in the center of the roses on my bouquet, which I kind of hate, but we were able to pull them out quickly.

Glad you had such a wonderful day!

You too Karen's MOH!! Congratulations and Good luck!!

It was great wasn't it? I love looking at our photos and there are over 1,000 of them!!

I actually emailed Karen Bryden and told her and she got all defensive and acted like someone  might have stolen one of the bouquets out of the ladies room where she left them. Its not worth fighting with her about it over the money, obviously she is not going to reimburse me but  I would not recommend her after the other stories I have heard. I was pretty calm but imagine how other brides might freak out if a bridemaid bouquet is missing!!!
