What is the adverage price for a videographer

I really have no clue on what is expensive or considered reasonable. I have some names but I am not sure what is considered expensive or in the normal range.

I got gotten prices from 1,500 to 3,000.
Any insight would be great.

    When I looked around, they seemed to range from about $1000 for just the raw footage to $10,000 for a multi cam over the top who knows what. The range was incredible.  Make sure you understand the difference between long and short form and decide which you like and go from there.

    I think it really depends what you are looking for.  When I was looking at videographers the prices ranged from $600-$10,000.  I am paying 2,050 for coverage at my house getting ready, church ceremony, 6 hour reception, 3 edited DVD's including a recap, and 1 raw footage DVD.

    Ours is a little over $3000, and includes two videograhers, 13 hours of filming, an edited video, 4 DVD's, 1 Blu-Ray, and all raw footage on DVD as well.

    I agree with the PPers. It really depends on what you are looking for and would like to receive after the wedding. My FI and I really didn't want raw footage so some of the more basic packages worked for us. We also didn't mind how many copies we got and knew we could always order more. Think about what style and things you would like included in your package and then compare the pricing.

    Average for what most people usually get (full coverage, 1-2 videographers, editing disk with a highlight) is typically around 2-3K

    Wow, I was so off. I thought that the cost would be around $1000 to $3000.
    A videographer is almost as expensive a photographer.

    We pay for their time most of all. I took some video classes in high school. They will spend far more time editing your wedding than they did shooting it. It takes forever to edit the simplist of things.

    videography can be really expensive.  we actually got lucky and got a great package for less than $1000 by GT Modern Creations who was recommended to me by another knottie.
