Ceremony Music - Guitar

We are having my future brother in law to play the acoustic guitar during our ceremony. We are having a difficult time picking out the music. My fiancée is more traditional than I am and prefers Canon in D etc. I would like to incorporate something more fun and contemporary. Would it sound odd to have a mix between the traditional and current? Or should we just stick to the one style? Any song suggestions are welcome!

I like having a mixture of song types, and you can use different styles that fit the part of the ceremony, like classical music while people are taking their seats then an upbeat modern song for the recessional.
Also, you could have him play you some songs in a few different styles. See how it sounds if he plays it soft or if he rocks out a bit to it.

You could also compromise and do the more contemporary songs for the preludes as the guests are seated and then the traditional stuff for the ceremony. Or do traditional for the processionals and a contemporary song for the recessional. I don't think mixing the two would be odd.

I was thinking about "I wanna hold your hand", but a slower version.. like in Across the Universe. There is a video of a guy playing it on guitar on youtube and its beautiful.
