Inexpensive venues on short notice

Hi everyone,

My fiance and I just got engaged about two weeks ago. Because of his work schedule as a teacher, we want to get married before he starts back to school. Neither of us have big dreams for a fancy wedding, and if it were up to us, we'd go to the courthouse and be done with it. However, in consideration of our families, we're trying to plan a quick wedding. We have a place at Tanger Family Botanical Gardens in Greensboro reserved, but we're both closer to Winston, so we are really hoping to find something a little closer that is also as inexpensive as possible. The place at Tanger is reserved on a limited number of days until we send in payment, so I'm scrambling for any other options just in case something is closer.  We're paying for this out of our own pockets, because my parents are struggling financially right now and can't do much. His parents are helping, but I don't want to ask them to do any more. They're going above and beyond already. So, I'm looking for any location aroun Winston, Kernersville, Lexington, Thomasville areas that might be a little on the unusual or maybe not as popular side, but still nice for a small wedding (50-70 people). As inexpensive as possible would be fabulous, and if it's off the beaten path, that's okay. I'd rather have an outdoor wedding, but because of the short notice, I'm not giong to be picky. Beggars can't be choosers, and all that. So...if anyone has any suggestions - it would be so greatly appreciated. I'm on the verge of doing the courthouse and forgetting all the plans. My family is stressing me out, and it's not enjoyable at all.
Anyway - thank you to any one with any suggestions whatsoever.

  • LuMil Vineyard in Dublin is gorgeous...I'm having my reception there and they have a website you can check out. Their prices aren't bad at all (I have the largest venue reserved ALL DAY which includes a full kitchen, tables, chairs) for $450. Hope this helps, it may be a little far for you, but maybe they have something open the calendar that's posted online :) Good Luck!
  • Nevaeh Estates can prob help you out..there # is 704-345-5558 nice outdoor venue with reception inside on the lake....give them a call
  • Try Nevaeh Estates on the Lake they can prob help you out on short notice,,there # is 704-345-5558 very nice outdoor for ceremony by the lake then indoor reception give them a call you will love it......
