Recommend your Hair and Makeup

I'm getting married in Tucson in early October (I grew up in Tucson but live in Washington, DC) and need to find a makeup artist and a hair stylist.  I'm fine going to get my makeup done at a salon/spa rather than having them come to my parents' house, but doesn't really matter either way.

I'm planning on a simple up-do and smoky eyes/nude lips.  I'll definitely be in town earlier in the week (probably the Tuesday before) but won't be there any sooner to do a trial or anything.

MUA/hairstylist with the same company or different companies doesn't matter--please recommend yours if you had a great experience!  Thanks :)

Re: Recommend your Hair and Makeup

  • Erin Powers at Toni and Guy for hair. She's great!
  • Melissa at Circa 79 was AMAZING. She did both my hair and make-up and I could not have been happier. They also had all my girls and family at the salon in the morning and were totally accomodating. The entire staff is really great, but Melissa is just fantastic. I can't say enough nice things about her (or them!)

  • Stay away from The Source Salon. We were promised 3 stylists, and ended up with 2 on the day of... and one of them (the manager) stopped working on our ladies halfway through the morning. Because the hair wasn't done on time, the entire day ran 45 minutes late.

  • I also grew up in Tucson, AZ and now live in Washington, DC and am getting married in October 20th, 2012 in Tucson! I had Spirals Salon booked, but they went under and started a new business on the other side of town and now I am also looking for a new hair and makeup stylist. Let me know what you end up booking!

  • I'm not sure if you found your person yet, but I would definitly recommend Margarita Potts:

Her and her team did such an amazing job and had THE best personalities!
