King Plow Arts Center

Hi,

Has anyone had their wedding or perhaps been to a wedding or other event at the King Plow Arts Center?  What did you think about the venue, the staff, food, etc?  I understand Bold American is the exclusive caterer.

My FI and parents are vising the space in a few weeks, but any input from people who have dealt with the facility or attended an event at the facility would be great.

Thanks in advance!

I just went to a wedding there on Saturday!  It was beautiful - I loved the loft-like feel of the space.  Lots of exposed bricks and beams. The food was delicious - they had 3 different stations with food: shrimp & grits, mac & cheese, fried chicken, beef tenderloin, veggies, etc.  The ceremony and reception were in the same room, so after the ceremony we all went to an art gallery type space for a cocktail hour.

Overall I loved it and would definitely recommend it!

Great!  thanks, Julia.  Do you happen to remember whether they had a lot of flowers or other decor in the space?  I have looked at pictures online, and people seem to do a lot of different things - from basic to extravagant.  Do you think it would look okay with not too many decorations?  That is one place we are not looking to spend a lot of money on in the budget.

Glad to hear that the food was good as well.

They didn't have too many decorations, and I think it looked great that way.  The space itself is interesting so you don't need too much.  They had lots of little vases with a few flowers in them on the 3 main tables (for the bridal party and family), and the other tables had arrangments of different votives and candlesticks. They also had some kind of branch thing hanging over the 3 main tables, draped with some flowers.  It was all very pretty and simple.  It's definitely a 'raw' space and you can transform it however you want, but it looks great as-is too.
