Bunches in dress

I am a small person 106 pounds and I went for my final dress fitting today. My dress is satin and on the sides it does not lay flat or smooth, it makes me look like I have fat rolls. I tried pulling all the layers down and smooth but it did not help. Please help me with any ideas

Re: Bunches in dress

  • Sometimes dresses bunch when they are altered to be a little too tight. Have you been working with a seamstress? I would ask her her opinion and what might be causing it. If it is that the dress is pulling too tightly, she might be able to take it out just a tad to smooth that all out.

  • I had a similar issue with my silk dress.  The sample I tried was flat but mine had bunches or wrinkles in the bodice.  My seamstress was able to smooth some of it out but also told me there wasn't much she could do.  If I had it to do over, I would have not bought silk.  But it was too late.  It still bothers me to this day but I doubt anyone else noticed and I still loved my dress in spite of it.

Sorry I can't be more help.  I took my seamstress at her word and didn't pursue it but that doesn't mean someone else won't have a better suggestion.
  • It shows that this type of wedding dress is not very suitable for you!
