I am catholic...he is not

Does any one have any suggestions. We are looking for a church that seats 150 people. Our reception is at Crystal Lake in Harrisville, but having a hard time getting responses from churches....any ideas??? We really want to be married in a church...well, maybe I do more than him.

Try any Unitarian church in RI.  They are not strict and will marry just about anyone who's check will clear. :)

I second the Providence Unitarian church. My friend is getting married there- and they said its a non-issue thing if your a member or not, etc. Plus, its so beautiful

My Brother and his wife got married in a non denominational church in Cranston.  St.  Patricks Church on Cranston St.  They don't even live in RI.  The only downfall is that the church is very small IDK if you would be able to fit 150 guests

I got married at  The First Unitarian Church of Providence. They were great. They may be a little more expensive than some of the others but you can't beat the location and they were great to work with.

Thank you all. I did visit First Unitarian, however they were a little expensive. We were not expecting the cost to be that much. Maybe we have to change the budget again....lol

We're getting married at Channing Memorial Church in Newport, not sure if that's too far for you - it's a Unitarian Chruch as well and is gorgeous - I think it's $1800 to rent out for a ceremony + cost of officiant and pianist.

I was looking into St Patrick's in Cranston for the same reasons. I believe they cost $800.  They only fit 100 people, I have 150 planned for te wedding but I am sure in my family most won't make the ceremony, just the reception.  Also, I was reserching catholoc churches in the area and it is just the Roman Catholic that refused to marry us without going through all kinds of classes and him converting, I started looking into some Old Catholic instead.  There was a church in Providence and I think Cumberland as well as a few priests who would go anywhere and still be able to have a Catholic ceremony.

frggsie. Any Chance you know the priests that you mentioned above who could go anwyehre to do the ceremony.

I tried looking for someone to do our ceremony at St. Thomas Moore in Narragansett and my priest (From cumberland ) siad it was "way too far to drive" down to narragansett.

I didn't have any luck and ended up having a melt down/fit and now we aren't getting married in the church and my mom mentions it to everyone lik eI am such a sinner.
