Official Marriage License

How long did it take you married ladies to get your official copy of the marriage license in the mail? We have been married for over two weeks now and no sign of our official license yet... I want to get this name change process going but I can't start without that silly piece of paper!!

We got married the day after you and just got ours on Saturday. So, I would think you would get yours here shortly also. I would say, if you haven't gotten it by Friday I would call the number they gave you with the certificate and see if they can tell you where it's at in the process.

Ditto the suggestion about calling. I called at about the 2.5 week mark because I had heard of another knottie who got married 6 days after me and had already gotten it back (I think her officiant took it to the office in person, while ours was mailed) so I was a little worried about mine. As luck would have it, the person who answered the phone actually had my license sitting on her desk and she decided to stamp it while I was on the phone... even though she said it was in the stack she probably wouldn't have gotten to for another day or two :-)

I think it was about a 3 weeks to a month. The State Gov't shut down 5 days after our wedding, so that might have delayed ours a little bit.

We had a Hennepin County License, and got it within a week. We were married by a Judge, and she obviously was quick to get it turned in for processing :-).
