We're getting married the latter part of May next year and I'd really like to have the ceremony outdoors. The place we'd do it has a back-up space indoors, but my fiance does not like the back-up venue and it costs an extra $1000 to move the wedding indoors if the weather is bad. So it would be a really big bummer if we couldn't go through with the ceremony as planned. I guess my question is, what are the odds that the weather won't cooperate at this time of year? I've looked at farmer's almanacs and have seen average rainfall for each day, but I don't feel like that's enough information. There might be a thunderstorm in the afternoon but it could be fine by evening, you know? The chairs would be on pavement rather than grass, so all we really need is for it not to be raining right before and during the ceremony. Does anybody who has considered doing this have any words of wisdom? Is it asking for trouble to plan an outdoor wedding in May in Omaha? I guess I really just want a number: there is an xx% chance the weather won't cooperate.
