5/4 Wedding Recap! Finally! (PIP)

Thursday night, my mom and I stayed in our hotel room. Neither of us could sleep very well! I maybe go 5 hours of sleep and I normally get a least 8. I woke up at 6:30, sat in bed for awhile, trying to make myself fall asleep! When my mom got up, I checked the weather... 60% chance of rain :( I walked very, very slowly to the window and peeked through the curtains... A BRIGHT, BRIGHT SUNSHINE-Y DAY! I was so relieved. My mom and I did some running around before we had to be at the salon. I could hardly eat anything. I had several large butterflies. We got to the salon a few minutes early but my stylist wasn't quite ready. When we got settled, she worked on my up-do and it took just over an hour and a half. We had only alloted 2 hours for hair and make-up and she didn't even have my veil in. She started in on my make-up and was working very slowly. I was starting to get nervous, my mom wasn't ready and everyone was calling because we were running late! We got out of the salon like 30 minutes later than we planned and rushed to the hotel.  When we got there, everyone was in the parking lot and my #1 photographer, Kay, told me that she asked and the room was ready to go and the flowers were in the big cooler in the kitchen. I was SO relieved at that point. I knew we had a lot to do (BMs getting dressed, Mom getting dressed) but I felt good. I let everyone into the hotel room and it wasnt ready! They hadn't made the bed or picked up the towels or anything! My mom and #2 photographer made the bed and got the room organized while I tried to hunt someone down for help... no such luck. Then, when Kay was trying to get pictures of my dress, there was no where for her to hang it! So it ended up laying on the bed. I got ready and everything else worked out. Then we got in the cars (I was surrounded by tulle & satin driving my car!) and headed to Downtown Willoughby for our first look pictures and formals. So much for alone time! Everyone was there :) But that's ok. He looked amazing and cried when he saw me. Everyone driving by honked and waved and said congrats! I also found out later that my boss, who was at the wedding, was driving through Willoughby on his way back to the office & saw us! During our formals, there was another couple close by and we were yelling hellos to each other and waving! Their photographer even took a quick picture of us! (So DH said) After, DH and I went around for a few formal pictures by ourselves. I think they are going to be amazing. Our photographer even looked at one and said it may be her favorite picture ever! Yay! When we got to the church, we had to clean several mud and grass stains of my dress! Thankfully, the photographer mentioned vodka works. It does! So does rubbing alcohol. The dress looked perfect before I walked down the aisle! When we lined up to walk, my dad was listening very intently to the music and told me I picked a wonderful song for the bridal party (Somewhere Over the Rainbow/It’s a Wonderful World by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole). We were almost to the door and I turned to my dad and told him that this was the happiest day of my life. He turned to me and said his was the day I was born. I immediately started crying! Then we walked down and I saw DH and I couldn’t stop! I was so happy. The ceremony was beautiful and perfect. DH choked up during the vows but I actually kept it together. I was so proud of us. The reception was also beautiful. It didn’t even bother me that the red “solid color” candles we bought were white in the center. We did the Shoe Game and it was a HUGE hit! Everyone laughed the entire time! The one time I was annoyed, the lady from the venue kept getting into our cake cutting photos until our photographer unkindly asked her to move away, after repeatedly asking her very nicely. We didn’t have a TON of dancing but everyone told me what a great time they had. I was and still am soooo happy to be married to the love of my life.  Good luck ladies! I hope everyone’s days go perfectly!
