was it easy to change your last name?

Was it easy to change your last name in Wisconsin?  Did you just start at the social security office then DMV?

Thanks!

Not too bad from me.  Hardest part was getting a certified copy of our license (live in MKE County, got it there, got married in Waukesha Co. but our minister sent it to MKE instead of Wauk., MKE forwarded it to Wauk. and we got our copies there after a little delay).  I recommend requesting several copies - their first one costs about $20 and extras are just $3 or so each.

Start at SS.  Then DMV - recommend waiting 24 hours after going to SS.  Then attack the rest.  I am still working on some - car insurance and title, voter registration.  Biggies - bank, work, and credit cards are done.

    Ditto on requesting multiple copies.

Start with your SS card.  Then do your driver's license... Then all of the rest you can do over time.  I just did them as they came up.  Like, the next time I had to physically go in to the bank I did the name change.  I still have a my passport to do, but I did print out the form :)
