River rock guest book

So I posted this on the DIY forum, but didn't get any responses so I thought I would try you guys instead!  For those of you who read both, sorry for the double post!

So we decided to use flat polished river rocks for our guest book. Has anyone else done this? I am looking for a creative way to instruct guests to sign a rock (I feel as though some of them may be confused). I have seen the signs that say "love rocks!" and that's not really what I am looking for I guess...doesn't really suit our wedding.

When we purchased the rocks we found 2 heart shaped rocks in the bunch and kept them aside to save. I was thinking of maybe incorporating these into a photo set of instructions, but I'm still not sure. (Like take a picture of us holding the rocks, writing on the rocks, and then have them actually sitting in the dish on the table where our guests will sign them). I feel like I would still need some kind of written direction.

Might be a long shot, but you are all so creative I thought I would ask. Any suggestions for me? Thanks!
