Don't use Poetry in Motion out of Madison for video!

Just an friendly warning not to use Poetry in Motion out of Madison for your videographer!  They were just aweful to work with.  First of all, I didn't get my wedding DVD until 6 months after my wedding.  I would email them to get an estimated time of delivery and he had a new excuse every time.  When it finally arrived, it did NOT include any of the speeches, our first dance, father/daughter dance, mother/groom dance, bridal party dance, boquet toss......etc.  I contacted him about a month ago and he said it was a mistake and he would send the missing footage, however I haven't received it yet.  They are slow to respond to emails if they respond at all.  They are not a reliable vendor for your video needs.

    How does a videographer miss the "dances"?

    I couldnt disagree more.  I have had SEVERAL friends use them and more than happy to reccomend them!  Possibly a fluke.

    I have to disagree as well.  My sister used them.  Yes, they do take awhile to get a finished product to you (hers took about 6 months too which was written in the contract), but once she got her video it was awesome..  Sorry this happened to you.  I agree, maybe it was a fluke?

    As the owner of Poetry in Motion it would be nice to say that cbush is wrong but the truth is I was just learning a new computer program and i neglected to  make sure the reception was added to the timeline when i burned the DVD. Just want to assure brides we did get all the footage from the reception and Cindy has it now. As far as  the time is concerned I have not shared with all my clients my problems, but my wife and partner and I ended our marriage and it put me a bit behind. Telling brides you're in the middle of a divorce is sort of a bummer. We did over 90 weddings in 2009 and a HUGE majority of brides were very happy with our work. However I dropped the ball on this one. I sure hope 2010 is a better year than 2009 was.

    My fiance and I were at a wedding where the couple used Poetry in Motion.  We were absolutely amazed that they were able to show a video right at the reception, and it was so beautiful!!  We'd love to use you service, but can't find your website.  Are you out there?

    That was not our experience at all. We used poetry in motion July of 2009 and our video turned out amazing. Shawn was very accommodating and made the video reflect us perfectly with awesome music and special moments we never would have caught ourselves. He used multiple cameras, got footage from before during and after the wedding, and played an already created video of clips from the wedding at our reception that evening. I still receive compliments on the video, and to this day it is the one thing that I didn't realize I wanted but feel it was the most memorable aspect of our wedding. I recommend them to all my friends... He was amazing! It did take several Months to get the finished video, but we got the reception video to hold us over until then. He was worth every penny!!
