I can’t wait to get it all off and my attention span is so short, especially when we're talking weight loss.
I am looking to start a group in Houston and on the cyber front to get in shape, meet our goals, make it fun and keep each other in check over the next year and a half! I would love to start a blog and post link and videos for healthy cooking, interesting workouts and… duh, bridal obsessions.
Here’s my story…
My MOG is what we call "Professionally Thin", like coocoo, off her rocker, 65 and in better shape than most Americans... she scares me a little. But at least she has my back and gets on to her son for being such a heavy-handed, bad influence! He eats awful and always wants to go eat and get drinks.
[confession: last night we had Mexican and we met for lunch today and has Indian… epic fail]
Needless to say… thanks MOG, can I quit my job and come live with you for 4 months... surely this would turn me around! I've gained nearly 30 lbs since moving in with him, her words echo in my head..."A moment on the lips is a lifetime on the hips." ... yeah, yeah lady, but unlike you I have taste buds, and I enjoy them.
Now, Granny of the Groom has coined my absolute favorite phrase..... "I'm gonna take some exercise!" ... like taking an asprin or vitamin cures an ailment... take some exercise and you'll be better for it! It's times like these when I wish I worked at a printing company and could use my fabulous (included with the job—because that software is sadly expensive) Adobe Illustrator to create some awesome signage and cute little nothings to post this mantra EVERYWHERE and keep myself on track.
MOB and SOB are zero help. MOB acts like she knows everything about being healthy although she has been very over weight ever since I’ve been alive. SOB, well, she’s always been a size 2, who unfortunately ballooned up to a 12 in college, but must have made a deal with the devil because she shrunk back to a 4 and has been steady for years…. What a freak of nature. :P
Anyway, I lost 20 pounds and then drifted my way back to 210.
so uncool. Our engagement photos will be in February, so that’s 5 months. I would like to be 30 pounds slimmer by then. That'll be tough, but I think it will be doable.
Wish I had a bigger group of LOCAL gal pals to workout with and keep each other on the straight and narrow. [love you hive, but being spread around CO and OK and NY …. It’s different from the good old days of dorm rooms and sorority houses]
From February 2013 I will have a year to get down to my dream 130 (I'm 5'1" so this really isn't a stretch, it was my size after coming of age, so I think it should do)
***So in short I have 80lbs to lose before February 2014. Any one, especially you Houstonians out there wanting to get your butt in gear... let's talk, let's stay at it, and let's take some exercise!
