I decided to make my own t-shirt to wear to the new Harry Potter movie. I usually buy one, but I couldn't find one this year that felt "right", with this being the last movie and all.
So I decided to make a shirt saying "until the very end", which is both a quote from and part of the dedication of the 7th book. I think it's fitting.
I wanted to use a font from the books, too, so I couldn't just buy iron on letters or ready-to-stencils. Point being: I had to make the stencils and apply the paint myself. I'm not the craftiest person in the world, so it wasn't easy for me, and there are a couple little smudges (I didn't let the paint dry long enough before taking the stencils off) but overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

I'm wondering now if I should add anything. I few little stars, or a snitch, or a lightning bolt, or... something?

Speaking of which, how is the premier usually by you? Do you have to get there several hours ahead of time? Wait in line? Do you bring things to do with you? What do you bring?
ETA: I think the lightning bolt would be super cool in the background and then some stars along the outside or something.

I'm planning to get to the theater around 10. Usually, that's about the time they start lining people up. I always bring a book or a crossword puzzle (last time, it was a book OF crosswords lol) and a snack (hidden in my purse). It seems like the time always goes by really quickly.
[QUOTE]I love it. Def a lightening blot. A snitch might be cool too. <strong>Will you make me one?</strong>

YES!
I actually had a lot of fun doing it, once I figured things out a little. I've been trying to think of what my next one should be.

[QUOTE]Warning, shameless threadjack, but still related. I think I've finally finalized your quilt design!!!! I can't do anything about it until I get paid by my society and school though :(. Also, trying to calculate yardage on 2" diamonds is a pain in my butt. If anyone knows how to do it, I'd appreciate some assistance. I just can't count that high.

I can help. Just tell me how many.
Elle - I think your shirt is awesome! I can't wait to see it with the stars and lightening bolt.

I seriously will. I bought an extra red t-shirt just in case I botched the first one. Do you want the same design or something different?

<div>I can't count that high. That's part of my problem. I know what I want, but I can't figure out how many I need.</div><div>
</div><div>The quilt is 90" x 90" and the diamonds are going to be part of an 18" border the entire way around. I'm having a hard time with trying to figure out how many diamonds that is (maybe 4" is better than 2") and how many yards of fabric that constitutes. Yeesh. It's complicated.</div>
