Venue Shopping on a Budget - LA/SGV area

Hello fellow Knotties!  I'm planning to wed in late 2012/early 2013.  I'm currently venue shopping on a budget.  I'm really striving to keep it at under $10K.  I live in Hacienda Heights and have looked into Pacific Palms, but they seem kinda pricey.  I'm looking to have no more than 75 people, but would be happier if my guestlist was around 50.  I also checked out (saw online) Occidental College in Burbank and really like how that venue looks.  Just wanted to know if any of you knew of other options that are budget friendly.

Thanks in advance!

Hey! That is my budget. I think the biggest thing for me was I wanted to deal with the least number of multiple vendors.  I wanted kind of a one stop shop. I say since you have time go see a lot of places. What about golf courses.. public courses... I think private courses are expensive.

Here is a link from here comes the guide. I have found some places have lower prices  than listed on this site. You should contact them directly.

Also try lunch. I am doing lunch and it is waaaaayyyy cheaper

I think that if you look up countryclubreceptions.com, you can find some reasonable all-inclusive options. If you want a real "DIY" wedding, check out local recreations and parks sites, and there are some venues that you can rent out and dress up.

Sportsmen's Lodge is pretty. Lots of nice backgrounds for photos.

El Dorado Golf Course in Long Beach is also reasonable.

    Good luck!

joysyear - Did that include the ceremony and is it a Saturday night reception? I was looking there too and I love it but I need to contact them about prices!

    Thanks!

Friendly Hills Country Club has great prices (if you have the wedding on a friday or Sunday) you can also check out Almansor Court (really inexpensive and Ramsey's (Tuluca Lake).

I'm from HH too but live in LA. My cousin held her wedding for about 8,000 at Luminaria's in one of their banquet rooms. I believe she had about 70-80 guests. You might want to see if any restaurants have facilities big enough to host your party. Good luck.

Thank you for all the suggestions.  I've been to a Luminaria's wedding and didn't have a great experience.

Almansor Court is also one that I have been looking at.

I also came up upon Kellogg House at Cal Poly Pomona.  I'm an alumni from there so that is also an option.

    Keep them coming! :)

The Kellog House at Cal Poly.  It seems to be a nice intimate venue for your wedding size. We looked at it for my parents' 50th.
