This is my first time in the knot website and I noticed the board is mostly a bunch of complaints regarding the groom's family members.
I am sure you ladies are not "that" kind of bride. So let's lighten it up a bit.
When my BF and I got engaged, we made a list long list of tacky violations we have witnessed at other weddings.
Here is our short list.
1) "It's MY DAY!" - bridezillas and groomzillas. The lovely couple actually screamed that dreaded phrase all day and event left a voicemail with that ending.
2) Drunken aunt/uncle inappropriate toast.
3) Matching Monster - the BM,MIL, MOH, MOB and the table centerpeice match.
4) Fake nails, crispy hair, orange tan and goatee for the groom - you know who you are

5) Wedding vows that would get a D in 5th grade english.
6) Bad acoustic guitar ceremony music - the "musician" is a friend of the bride.
7) Relatives cheering on your post-nuptial sex and hoping you will get pregnant very soon.
8) Photo sildeshow montage of the couple in various forms of PDA running during dinner service - gag!
9) Traditional formal ballroom reception and overly coordinated service of BAD FOOD.
10) My future MIL bought a silver dress with svarovski crystals details for our wedding. Oh YES! It will be awesome.
Wow. I like how you included "traditional formalballroom reception" as tacky. I'm pretty sure it's not. I'm so confident in my opinion that I am actually having my reception in a ballroom and it is not tacky. But thanks.
Formal is not tacky. But serving bad food should be a faux pas - ie <strong>individually served donut holes.

Then you should think before you write. If that's what you really meant then the appropriate thing to write would have been just about bad food.
But judging somebody for serving doughnut holes ... really? As long as they were good doughnut holes, who cares that they were served at a wedding?

Wow. I'm sorry I'm so annoying as to be mistaken for OP.
I thought you may have accidently responded with the wrong screen name, saying the list was about your family (as OP)...but then I just realized I probably missed a thread about you complaining about your family?
Posted by kkchisholm
Yeah, it was in the Open Letter thread. I was responding to OP's accusation that every conversation was complaints about in-laws.
PS: OP, I love donuts.
