Transportation

Hi

Are you guys using a limo service or a party bus? I am not sure what to do. I am getting ready at the venue along with my girls. Should I be going to the venue by limo?

The boys are getting ready at a hotel which is 15 minutes away from the venue and they are saying they want a limo to pick them up.

After the wedding we are staying at the same hotel. Do we need a limo to pick us up or pick us and the wedding party as well? My guess is we also need to arrange for a shuttle bus to take the guests from the venue to the hotel?

I'm lost. Any ideas and contacts would be appreciated.

I'm getting a limo to pick up the groom & GM, then me and by BM's, then take us for photos after the ceremony, then to the reception venue.

I haven't decided how we're getting to the hotel.  Either another smaller limo (not everyone is going to the hotel) or cabs.

I think you should be responsible for getting your WP around, but I'm not worrying about my guests getting to the hotel... it's a 10 minute cab ride away.

DH and I saw each other before the ceremony, so the wedding party and the two of us all went together to and from the ceremony.  The limo picked up the boys and drove them to our location, we did our "reveal" stuff, and then went to the church.  After the ceremony and pictures, we all headed the reception site together.

Usually there is a minimum time limit on limo rentals, so if you aren't too spaced apart, you can probably get the limo to pick up the boys and drop them off, then come back and pick you girls up, if that's what you want.

I used Erin Mills Limo - they are based out of Mississauga and they were great.  No fee for coming into the city or anything like that, either.

    Thanks for the info!!

So you think we shouldn't worry about how our guests will get from the hotel to the venue and then venue to the hotel after the wedding? It is 15 minutes away, but i thought you kind of had to make sure your quests are covered with transportation since most of our guests are out of town and will be staying at the hotel.

Our reception and ceremony as well as pictures are all going to be at the same location so it's not like we need to go from one place to the other.

So it seems like a waste of money to me to get a limo or a party bus to bring the boys to the venue and then sit there for 8 hours so they can pick us along with the wedding party up at the end and bring us to the hotel.

Can't figure out the best way to go about diong this. Frown

I think you are fine.  You aren't asking people to travel an hour or more.  15 minutes away is nothing!  If OOT guests do not have transportation, perhaps you can ask friends or relatives that do live around you to offer people rides between the two.  That's something you can delegate to a wedding party member as well - you can put on a wedding website if people need transportation, to contact .... and they can arrange with others to ensure everyone gets where they need to be, but even that is above and beyond necessary.

I would just focus on the transportation for the wedidng party alone.

I've never been to a wedding where the transporation between the venue & hotel was covered by the bride & groom, I've always cabbed it.  :)  So I definitely wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

Personally I'm going to make up welcome baskets and include some cab company numbers for guests staying in the hotel.  And that's more than anyone's ever done for me!
