Does anyone plan to marry May 12th? Thoughts on outdoor ceremony, too cold??

Hi all,

I have found a venue that I absolutely love!!  However they do not have any June or late May dates available :(  I want an outdoor ceremony but worry that May 12th on Brant Lake may be too cold.....any thoughts? Thanks for any input, Jess

I think it's a toss-up.  It's been known to snow in Upstate NY as late as May 1 - so you will be taking a chance, but not a big one.  Rain may be an issue, though.  Are you going to have a tent?

I'm planning an April 1 2012 wedding in Rochester, NY.  I wanted an outdoor ceremony, but due to costs, etc., we decided to get married in a somewhat "off" season.
Best of luck to you :)

Yeah, early May can be either 30 or 80 - you never know around here!

an afternoon reception would be fine but an evening affair would be too chilly in my opinion

Thanks so much girls!!  The search continues to find  a venue that has mid-June availability....I don't want to give up on my dream of an outdoor ceremony.  Anyone know of any other budget friendly outdoor venues?

If your are getting married at Jimbo's I attended a wedding there in mid October and while it was chilly it wasn't too bad. If you are having a short ceremony I say go for it.
