Paper & Printing

HI girls! I feel so lost, ths last stretch has me SO freaking busy I don't have a second to breathe! I'm sorry I haven't responded much lately :(

I have a quick question..what kind of paper should I use to print my menu cards on? I wanted to do metallic grey but a) not sure if the ink will smudge on the shiny paper and b) not sure what color to make the text so it can be read.

TIA!

Re: Paper & Printing

  • I think you'll just have to test a few papers to see what looks best! I'd probably go with a cardstock and if you want to do the grey, maybe print with white or black ink.

Again, I think this will be a process of trial and error!

  • You can use the shiny paper. All you have to do so it wont smudge is print one at a time and do not let them touch each other for a few minutes. The reason the ink takes longer to dry is because that kind of paper has no pores for the ink to set into. But if you let it dry for about 15 minutes you will be A okay! (I used to own a scrapbook store ;) )
  • I used a shiny gold cardstock form michaels for my "will you be my bridesmaids" cards... and printed them at home no prob. I agree with PP, trial and error! GL
