  • CALORIES CONSUMED:1400
    AMOUNT EXERCISED:0
    WAS I ON TRACK TODAY?kinda
    NOTES: 11/19 I didn't exercise yesterday. I work graveyard
from 7pm-7am, five days a week and its hard for me to
get up and exercise after I wake up at about 2pm. I then
get ready to go to work at 6:30pm. I guess there's no
excuse. If I want to lose the weight, I have do what
it takes to lose it.Today 11/20- I'm on track with my
calories so far!  BUt I think I need to lower my calorie consumption to 1200 calories/day.
  •  [for 11/19:]

CALORIES CONSUMED: 1735 cal, 91.5g protein, 51g fat
AMOUNT EXERCISED: 30 min weights + 15 min cardio
WAS I ON TRACK TODAY? yeah.  calories a bit on the high side but fat was pretty low

    [for 11/20:]

CALORIES CONSUMED: 2363 cal, 114g protein, 113g fat
AMOUNT EXERCISED: 30 day shred (25 min)
WAS I ON TRACK TODAY? ate too much!
NOTES: Being at home on the weekends (especially when I'm feeling festive and want to cook) is clearly a weakness for me.   I didn't feel like I ate a lot, but apparently sampling the things I am cooking does add up.

  • Can I ask you all a question? Where are you getting how many calories you should consume from? Is it an educated guess, did you use a formula or did a Doctor/Dietitan give you the calorie prescription? Not trying to be nosey, just curious since i would personally feel like I'm starving on 1400 calories.

  • Use the weight you want to be and add a zero to the end. So say you want to weigh 120, you can eat 1200 calories a day. You want to make goals for yourself though. Dont try to lose too much at once. If you exercise, add half the calories back in. So if you burn 300 calories in your workout you can eat an extra 150 calories. If you are mostly active throughout the day you can add an extra 200 calories. If you are sedentary skip the last one. This is just an estimate but you may be eating too little calories for how active you are. Make sure you are eating enough protein (its the last thing you burn).

I hope this makes sense. Im a personal trainer so I have any questions, let me know!

  • Can I join you??? I need to lose at least 30 lbs I don't even want to go dress shopping until I get this weight under control.

  • I'm not going dress shopping until I lose 25lbs. What are good cardio excercises that will help me maximize my workout? I hate running but I need to start losing weight so I can go shopping!!!
  • This is GREAT brides!! and I went to the "advanced weight loss clinic" and ive tried MANY diets... and your calorie thing works! Assume the weight you WANT to be.. within reason.. and add a "0"... you need to decrease this overtime... so dont start at a weight of 200lbs and assume you can eat 1400... that unreasonable. But watch the scales and watch the calories... Google has a great calorie counter also. You just pick out the foods you eat and the amount and it keeps the log for you.. then post in your "log"

This is GREAT!! i will be joining the "Fat Burning Brides" clan!
  • I need to join you guys!  I've lost 28 pounds, but still have another 30 to go.  I never realized the math part of my goals.  I'm going to work on this incredibly hard.
  • I would love to join you ladies!!! I have 10lbs to lose and I need to lose it QUICK!!! I'm getting married on Jan 29, 2011. Yikes. I have a personal trainer and we work out twice a week. My problem is I have a hard time making it to the gym when I'm not meeting my trainer. So bad!

Happy to have found all of you. I can now get some much needed motivation.
  • Hi ladies.  I'm a newbie.  We just set a date...6 months, 2 weeks, and 1 day from now.  I've got a lot of gym time to catch up on.  I want to lose between 25 and 30 pounds, so I'll see if I can't slide in here with you guys. I'll start on Saturday, cause I'll probably sleep all day Friday (pulling an all nighter before a test....yep, I'm procrastinating.).  Wish me luck!!
  • CALORIES CONSUMED: 1700
AMOUNT EXERCISED: 45 minute Cardio Scuplt class- Ow!
WAS I ON TRACK TODAY? Yes
NOTES: I'm new to join! It wasn't the best day, but I had a big ol' carrot at the end of the day instead of making my calorie count even worse. Burned a LOT of calories in my class- quite the drill instructor of a teacher!
    Anniversary
  • Yeah for FBB!!!
I would like to share some tips, I've lost 30 lbs so far...but would like to loose 30 more!
For me it was all about controlling my portions, I would always put too big of a scoop on my plate if you know what I mean.  I now put my meals on a small desert plate and make it look about the amount of food in a lean cuisine or smartones type portion.
Best Calorie Burn:  Hot Yoga!  You see yourself slim down in the first week, I try to go to classes as much as possible, depending on your current weight you lose between 500-1000 calories in one hour!!!
So far I've been on track today!
  • Alright Ladies!

I've gained probably 25 pounds over the last two years at work, but within the last 6 weeks lost 15 pounds doing the most simple thing.

Fact: your body can only burn a certain amount of calories every three hours.  I am 5'9" and 160, and my number is 300 calories every three hours.

Fact: If I eat more than 300 calories in a sitting (more than it can burn), the remainder of the calories will be stored as fat.  However, I cannot eat less than 250 calories in a sitting, or my body will go into starvation mode and my metoblism slows down, again, storing fat.

Fact: Therefore, I have to eat every three hours in order to keep my metabolism going and not go into starvation mode!  So, that's about 6 times a day.

So, about 6 weeks ago, I started eating 250 calories, every three hours, six times a day.  That comes to 1500 calories per day, which was actually more than I would usually eat. (My body for 2 years was in starvation mode, where I would just eat an 800 calorie lunch, then a 500 calorie dinner, BOOM! Weight Gain)

And there you go: I've already lost 15 pounds.  It is so simple that it blew my mind.  You won't loose anything for the first 2 weeks, because if you are in starvation mode (which most of us are), your metabolism needs to get started again, but when it does, it really does and weight comes off quickly.

I hope this helps someone.  I surley helped me, and I had to pay someone to tell me how to do it.
  • how do you find out how many calories your body can burn every 3 hours?
  • WOW.....really its that simple???  I have been so focused on restricting and excersizing.  I never thought that eating more but lighter would give me the results i wanted....I'm going to have to try this......thank you so much.  I agree how do we find out how much our body is able to take in a three hour period???

I have never heard the first fact... is that assuming you are not doing anything but normal activities??

But the rest is legit EAT every 3 hours! It makes your body constantly burning calories. Who doesnt love to eat anyways!
Another trick is to eat something small before you go to bed that has a lot of protien like low fat cottage cheese, greek yogurt, low fat beef jerky or a protein shake. Two reasons...
    1. Your body is repairing all night long and it needs protein
    2. Your body is still burning calories as you sleep so you need something to keep it going ALL night. If you eat protein, it is metabolised at a much slower rate and therefore your body stays in that burning mode alll night.

Core training and strength training. You have to build up the muscle if you want to be burning those calories like crazy. If you are just doing cardio your body thinks it is in starvation mode and it will burn muscle before it burns fat! So basically, you will be a skinny bag of fat. Shoot for 3-4x a week.

As for cardio...always be mixing it up! Make sure you are challenging yourself and then recovering. Interval training is best! Mix up the machines so your joints dont get overused doing the same thing every day. No more than 25 mins.

  • my wedding is in a month, and since June I've lost 25 pounds by eating a restricted diet, eating 6x or more per day, and going to the gym a lot (although the past 6 weeks I've stopped due to time constraints)...

I can't lose any more weight or my dress won't fit (mega expensive alterations because of the bodice so no thx!!!), so I'm happy with my progress and will pick back up to lose the rest of the weight (20-25 lbs) afterwards! :)
  • The last year or so I started gaining weight like crazy, but nothing in my diet or activites changed... I was eating a balaced diet and execizing... but after some research i realized I had a health condition called Candida. It is a yeast overgrowth in your body and feeds on sugar and yeast (so almost all carbs) and causes your body to stop metabolizing correctly. ... So in October i went to Ethiopia on a mission trip and stopped eating sugar and any processed foods. I lost 5 pounds in ethiopia over a two week span. When I got home I was commited to getting rid of this Candida... so for the last 2 months I stopped eating sugar  and yeast... and believe me.. they are in everything... but I am feeling great and have lost 20 pounds in those 2 months.....

I know its not for everyone... but it worked for me... I eat lots of little meals throughtout the day to keep me out of starvation mode... and keep my metabolism working.
