Attire for Dads?

hello all! i have a question on what the dads of the bride and groom are supposed to wear. the groomsmen and my fiance are all wearing tan suits. what is the rule of thumb, do the dads need to wear the same thing?

    The rule of thumb is that the parents wear whatever they want. They can coordinate with the WP if they want to, but if they already own appropriately formal attire, then they can wear that. Its up to them.

    ditto what was already said.  It is up to you and the dads.  I asked mine to wear a tux and they were more than happy to.  But I have also been to weddings where the dads wore whatever they wanted.
