Cairnwood

Have any of you had a wedding at Cairnwood (or are any of you having your wedding there)? I'm getting super nervous because our ceremony is downtown at a church but the reception is at Cairnwood. We're providing busing for people. I'm just worried that it's not going to work very well for 150 people. Thoughts?

my friend got married there in October of 2009.  it was lovely.  she had about 200 people.  they got married outside and the reception was under a tent.

just to let you know- they only provide the location.  all other vendors were from outside.  she had a lot of people to work with.

Thanks for the reply! We're aware of all the moving parts - thankfully it's within our budget to have a wedding planner for this, so it's much easier to coordinate.

Do you remember feeling like you were being herded around to different parts of the house or did you think it flowed ok?

    ps- your dogs are adorable!

I looked at the Cairnwood - gorgeous venue. I also thought it was unique to have the separate rooms. I ultimately decided against it because of the added expense for everything. Made more sense for me to do all-inclusive.

I attended a wedding there a few weeks ago. It was beeeautiful and I did not feel like I was herded around. However, I missed the cake cutting, father/daughter dance, etc. Many people were wandering and catching up in other rooms. It was hard to keep the crowd all together on the dance floor. If you're looking for a dinner-party type wedding, it's great. But if you want it to feel like a room full of people surrounding you, high energy, I think it's a little tough to keep everyone all together.
