I feel so far behind...

So I keep seeing everyones checks and I feel so far behind in my planning. Its still early since I only got engaged about 3 weeks ago, but you guys could run laps around me with all the work you guys have accomplished! haha.

I am somewhat deliberately slowing down. My last time (i always have to compare to the last time i was married - ugh) I rushed through a lot of my planning and then as the date got closer I started questioning and second guessing myself which was not good for me. That has a lot to do with why I am slowing down and really experimenting with options before deciding on a final item.

I'll catch up soon! :D

    I know I'm getting things done early because I don't want to run around like a chicken with it's head cut off when it gets closer. 

    Don't feel bad, my 2 best friends that are engaged plan on getting married May 4th and they haven't even booked a venue yet, lol.

    I would be freaking out if we had a date and no venue! Yikes!

    I am just getting into the swing of doing. We had plans even before we got engaged, but now we are doing. It feels good :)

    Please don't feel bad, I've been engaged since Christmas and are nowhere near some of these ladies! What I'm jealous of is all these 8 month tickers!!

    I've been engaged since March and just have the major things out of the way... venue, church, photographer, honeymoon... and I think that's it lol I feel like everyone else is doing so much more as well, but so many ladies on here are doing lots of DIY projects, and all we are really doing ourselves are the flowers, programs ( if we decide to do them), and aisle decorations. Our venue is doing literally just about everything for the reception, which is nice ( we aren't the most crafty people lol)

    I've been engaged since July 15, 2011 so don't feel behind. I've had over a year to plan small things and I haven't gotten much done.

    We've been engaged since June, 2011 so we've had tons of time to get everything done.  I'm also a very decisive person, so anything I do is set in stone for me.

    I am planning a lot early b/c school starts in 2 weeks and goes until the week before the wedding. During school it's really hard to find time to make appts. I wanted to save myself from stress by knocking a lot out this summer. You have time, so don't worry about comparing yourself to others. You will get it all done!

    OMG you ladies will probably be so relieved when its all said and done! I think I'd go nuts if I had more than 1 year to plan, prepare, doubt myself, and plan again! LOL

    Don't feel bad! Everything will come together in due course :)

    I know I'm a little behind some of the other girls, but I'm still pushing forward lol I'm trying to get as much done now so it's a weight lifted off my shoulders later. I do not do well with stress, so I'm trying to make sure I'm as little stressed as possible as it gets closer.

    You'll get there, and like you said, you dont' want to end up second guessing yourself.

    I, too, would go nuts if I had longer than a year to plan. We were originally planning Sept 2013 (depending on our house stuff), and I was like "uh, Sept 2013... not happening!" lol

    I've been engaged since March. I guess statistically speaking (against this group) maybe you are behind, but I have always thought of this bunch as "freakishly ahead of the planning curve", so i'd give yourself a break on that.
    Go at your pace, you know what your life and schedule will allow.

    I know that I'm about to start amping up fundraising for an event I do every year, so that's going to start eating up my time. I know that at the end of the month FI will be retired, without a job, and with a paycut about 50% of what he currently makes (and i'm a SAHM, so i have no income beyond what I make on etsy or in childsupport). I know that sept is my birthday, nov is FIs birthday, october is halloween (which is a time-intensive holiday when you have kids), then thanksgiving, christmas, FI's cousins wedding, new years, both of our daughters birthdays are in january, and then at that point we'll be only 3 months away. Yeesh. So I have to get a head start now to accomodate what I know will be a slow period at the end of the year.

    Ok, I'll make you feel good... I've been engaged since July 2011 and only have the church and venue booked.. oh, and I bought my dress a couple weeks ago. That's it. Now I'm trying to scramble to get a lot done this month (DJ, photog, e-pics, start looking for BM dresses)...

    I kept saying I wanted to just enjoy being engaged for a while and not start immediately planning a wedding... now I'm kinda wishing I had started the planning process sooner... or that I had someone around my area to help me.

    I've been engaged since August 2011 and got a lot of stuff done so I could get the 2012 pricing lol. But now I'm kinda lost because a lot of stuff is already done and I feel useless lol. I'm sure I will be swallowing my words come Feburary haha
