    It is amazing though when something rough happens how it can bring you together or push you apart as with any relationship....I am glad it made us closer:)

    We lived together for 3 years before getting married, so life has not changed at all.

    I am the opposite of you Tiff... I didn't live with him before, and we only saw each other on weekends, so my adjustment has been huge. Still not all the way there and we are both so stubborn and independent that we butt heads a lot. I love him more than life, but there are definitely days that I miss my privacy and space!

    This morning I woke up to just me in the bed.  I called for DH and said, "Did you sleep in here?" I went to bed first last night, he stays up MUCH later but also usually sleeps later.

    His response.

    "Jesus Christ! What are you, retarded?!"

    I had to just laugh. What a ridiculously over the top response to my question! Then my laughter made him start laughing and that was the end of the "feud."

    I think in the "early years" we used to argue a lot more about stupid stuff like that.  A comment like that could have sent me into a huffy and I would have ignored him for a little while till he came crawling back to apologize.

    we lived together for a little less than a year before getting married...and the 1st 6 months were a little ugh bc syn was in the dumps a lot and had lost some focus.  So I honestly didnt know what direction it would have had us go in.  Then in the new year he found his drive and we just seem to be going up and up ever since...so yea I am the cornball that chose "squueeeee"...lol.

    Honestly, i think it's partly bc i didnt really have any expectations of life after we said "i do".  So the fact that we seem to be better than ever makes me attribute it to being married but this feeling could have easily happened before the marriage..i think it is just a matter of good things happening post wedding.

    tif - i agree w/ you 100% - that "Jesus Christ" comment - in the early years i would have been like REALLY! we are going there! lol

    Now - as we are slowly approaching our 10yr "dating" anniversary(kinda weird to say that now) and have lived together over 4yrs...we have been thru it all, made our "adjustments", and are 100% each other's bestfriend....

    I think now that we are married, we look at each other and are in awe  - that wow we have been thru so much and we are married - we giggle like little kids about it...

    its an amazing feeling - and wouldnt change anything....

    We lived together for 3 years before we were married, so really not much has changed after the wedding.

    Not much has changed since the wedding. If anything, I say we've become closer. We lived together for a year before getting married, so we didn't need to adjust to that.

    I said this from day 1 - I don't feel any different, and I think that's a really great thing. I feel like it means we have a good relationship and know what to expect.

    I'm a bit of a special snowflake in my lack of crazy enthusiasm, but I picked Exactly how I Pictured it, since nothing really is different. I am thrilled to pieces to be married and love my DH, but it isnt puppies and rainbows, it's the same happiness we had before, with a joint bank account. =)

    Not only did we live with each other for 4 years before, but we had a 1.5 year old by the time we got married.  With a child, your life is not gonna get ANY MORE exciting than it already was before marriage!  It was hectic before, and it's hectic now!!!

    I told him that I'd like to be married before we have another child, and that's the only difference our marriage brought us - a new baby.

    The truth of the matter... the only thing that has changed is my waist line! I never thought it would happen to me! Everyone's like "Well you're married, of course you'll gain weight."
