QOTD 7/12

Do you and your FI have joint bank accounts?  If not now, will you after you are married?

We opened up a joint savings account when we were engaged to put wedding money into.  We didn't use that money for any other purpose.

About 4 months before the wedding, my husband needed to close his checking account and open a new one for security reasons.  We just had his name added to my account at this point since we were almost married anyway.

I think things are so much easier since we share an account.

No, we don't have a joint account.  Eh, not sure if we are going to after the wedding, but probably not.

We both have seperate accounts.  We plan on opening a joint acount together sometime this week, but we will still maintain our separate accounts as well.

We need to open a joint account... we have so much financial/combining finances stuff to do, but with moving and taking care of a whole bunch of other stuff, it just hasn't happened yet.

We have always had seperate checking accounts but share the finances.  We just never got around to combining them.

When we moved to Colorado, we opened up a joint checking and savings account.  We had to close our separate accounts we had in Toledo because they did not have a branch in Colorado for our bank.  We figured since we were getting married and already living together it was easier to combine that stuff when we moved.  He got tired of writing me a check every month for his half of rent anyways...

We don't have one now, but either sometime before or shortly after we're married we'll get one together. I'm not sure if we'll keep our own accounts too or not.
