New Orleans board of trade

Hello Ladies!

I am planning a wedding in NOLA but I am not from there. I live in Minneapolis. I have been searching online and Board of trade ballroom have captivated me. Anyone used it before? I saw thier prices online. 3hrs for $4000. is that typical for NOLA? Any adivce from locals will be great. Good florists? Photographers?. I have about a $25,000 budget.

Happy planning!

I'm not familiar with the Board of Trade, so I'll defer to the others.  For photography, I can recommend www.jacquelinekay.com.  For florist, Frederico's Florist (504) 837-6400  and Big Easy Flowers - www.bigeasyflowers.com. For caters, you check out www.pigeoncaterers.com or Jacques with New Orleans Catering (504) 837-1075.  Please let us know if you need more NOLA help!!

Board of Trade is beautiful. I used their catering (Pigeon) for my wedding back in March. My reception was at the wax musuem.

I loved my photographer, Jennifer Zdon. She's awesome and talented. Here are some pictures from our wedding: http://www.twirlphotography.com/blog/?p=236.

We used Nola Flora for our flowers.

Thanks a bunch ladies! All your information is so helpful. I am really leaning towards the BOT and willbe there in January to check it out. I already spoke to Pigeon catering and they are super nice and personable and have also heard great things about their food.

I know i'll have many more questions. Thanks again ladies.

I called about my wedding in 2012 about a month and a half ago and the coordinator told me the NO BoT hasn't decided when they are going to do the renovations that were planned in 2012 (what she told me) and that I should check back in 5-6 months.  Sadly, I dropped them off my list of possible venues b/c that's just not enough time in NO in case I wanted to book something else.  The pictures on the site look so great though!

i recommend using urban earth as your florist.  i havent had my wedding yet, but james is incredible to work with - he's creative and will take time to talk about flowers and design ideas.

I recommend Fat Cats florists.  Diane is awesome.

I actually did not go with Urban Earth on recommendation of my cake bakery; she said they are way expensive.

BOT is awesome.  It's pricey, but it's also very, very, very nice.

We considered the board of Trade for my daughter's wedding. What stopped us is the place is charming but needs TLC and the bathrooms were horrible. If they would remodel it would be a great place.
