  That's awful....such a shame, they would waste those beautiful dresses...had they donated them, it probably would've been a tax write-off....

  Omg. I saw that too. They did a story on the Dallas news this morning. The store was closing was they said it was "policy" to not donate dresses. What policy?! The flippin store was CLOSED! Those dresses were over $4000. Ridiculous.

  That's ridiculous...all the soon to be brides out there who can not afford a dress could of benefited from those dresses being donated instead of destroyed!

  This is just so sad.  They really should have donated them to charity.  I'm sure brides against breast cancer would have loved to have them and would have made donation as easy as possible for them.  So sad.

  
  

  My guess is that David's Bridal wanted to no longer have any Priscilla of Boston dresses in circulation so that they can be the only retailer from now on of the label.  Of course, their dresses won't be the same quality.

  That is really horrible.  But, sadly, does not surprise me.

  
  

  There's a documentary out there called Dive! about that "eat trash" movement where people go to dumpsters outside of groceries stores and pull out perfectly good, unspoiled food that it often days away from the "sell by" date on the packages.  It's fascinating!  Just seeing the bags of food they pull out and the things they found in there baffles my mind.  Why is our culture so selfish that perfectly good food (and clothing and other products) aren't donated?  I just don't get it!

  
  

  I also read an article not too long ago about how Macy's, Century 21, and other like stores will rip up or poke holes through unsold clothing and then throw them out.   It was a really sickening article.
