mansion reception sites in MI??

Hi Ladies... I am helping my friend plan her wedding for a large amount of people 250-300 with a tight budget. Are there any places that you could recommend for a one stop shop.. ceremony/reception area... Would also love to find a mansion/backyard that could be rented for weddings as well..

What kind of budget are you looking at?  What area?

Her fiance wants to spend 15k. Her and I didnt know if that was possible for 250-300 people. I know for my wedding i paid 12k just for food. So we are trying to find a way to be creative. looking in detroit, Southfield, surrounding suburbs. I was told on another board to maybe check out a park or find out if someone would rent out their mansion since i know most receptions halls charge alot with food and catering... Im trying to think out the box here but having a hard time doing so...

I don't know about Mansions, but this place  http://www.infinityandovation.com/weddings-on-the-water use to be between 8,000 and 15,000. It's definitely different and out of the box.

    Hi,
I was imagining the same type of set-up ( a mansion/estate)and ended up booking the Lafayette grande.

It might be a little high for her budget but the Lafayette Grande in Pontiac is a beautiful place and they have really big rooms so they can fit your numbers. The catering, bar, set-up, EVERYTHING important is all through their company. It's run by a family and they have been super nice!

I'm sure they would be willing to work with your friend on her budget.

They will do a ceremony in the room for a few hundred extra and change everything to dinner set-up during a cocktail hour( both of their rooms take up two stories so you have basically 2 spaces to use!)

    Hope this helps!

I booked at Crystal Gardens in Southgate, but they have multiple locations.  They are not a mansion, but very upscale and classy. For my all inclusive package (invitations, dj, premium bar, cake, dj, etc) for 125 people with ceremony chapel it's around $6,800. Here's the link

Grosse Pointe Academy does weddings inside the chapel, then you can rent the front lawn...which is on Lakeshore Drive, so it's a BEAUTIFUL view of the water. Only thing is they have to be catholic to get married in the chapel. They would be able to hire their own caterer, which is a puls too.
