    That really depends on where you live....
    have you checked out your local board?
    I am in NJ and we are paying $1650 for ours ~ ceremony, cocktail hour, reception.

    Yes, it depends on what part of the country you are in.

    In Ohio, we paid $500 for the first four hours and then $50 thereafter. They only played for the cocktail hour and reception.

    as PP said, it really depends.  I am in North Jersey and we are paying $2,500 for 2 musicians for our ceremony and then a DJ for our one hour cocktail party and then a DJ and assistant for our four hour reception.

    LA-- prob on the high side. In NW Ohio I'm paying $875 for unlimited time frame starting w the cocktail hour.

    any dj below $1000 will be bad guaranteed
    we paid about $1500 and wuld have paid double for the job he did - he was incredible

    I am in Indiana and we are paying $395.  Our DJ also just did my brothers wedding and he did amazing!!  We got a discount because he is on the fire dept in my home town with my dad but I think his original price is $495
