2 bathrooms for 50 guests?

We are having a casual outdoor wedding in March next year. Both the ceremony and reception will take place at his parent's lake house.

Will 2 bathrooms be enough for 50 guests? We are thinking we will designate one a 'mens' and one a 'womens.' Any thoughts or suggestions? I really don't want to have a port-o-potty!

we are renting port a potties it's like a trailer it even has sinks in it, there is a men's side and women's side and each side has 2 stalls with a sink and papertowel holder with trashcans. they told us that was enough for our 175 guests... so two bathrooms for 50 sounds ok.... you could always try too look it up on google or yahoo...

We had a bathroom trailer with 2 women's rooms and 1 men's room. I don't think there was a time when all 3 were being used or a line outside and we had around 70 guests. Two stalls should be fine, but yes, no port-o-potties. Bathroom trailers are very nice these days.

I was just at a wedding at a family home over the weekend and they had about 125 guests with two bathrooms. There were sometimes 2 or 3 people waiting in line to use the bathroom, but it never got worse than that.

Seems fine to me. I agree I wouldn't label them men vs. women, if they are private with their own door then segregating them is totally unnecessary.

The only think id be concerned about is whether the system inthe house would be able to handle the number of people. I would think it would depend on how long they are there too. I think if it is not a city system you would want to look into that. I am renting portapotees for mine if we do it outside because the septic system would be overloaded with our guest count.

We didn't label them men's and women's, our bathroom trailer came with permanent signs already on the doors. But, that being said, none of my friends would be shy if the men's room was available and they had to go!

should be fine. we were told the rule of thumb is one bathroom per 50 guests.

I was told the same thing, 50 per unit .We are renting portapotties for our outdoor reception. They are no longer the gross ones from outdoor weeklong events. Ours has a flushable toliet, running water sink, lighting and vents. I also rented the largest one offered (their 'wedding unit' so you don't have to worry about rubbing against a door to get in or out. Just something else to consider.
